Who We Are

Yoder Storage Barns is a family-run Weather King dealership (dealer #6851) based in Port Charlotte, FL. We sell storage sheds, lofted barns, cabins, garages, metal buildings, and dog kennels — every one built to order by Weather King in Florida, not mass-produced, and delivered to your yard fully assembled. We don't keep a sales lot: you choose from the price sheet or the 3D designer, and we handle the quote, the rent-to-own paperwork, the permit documents and the delivery.

Who Builds Them

The dealership is the new part of this. The buildings aren't. Weather King has been making portable buildings in Florida since 2009 and now supplies more than 50 dealers across the state, so what lands in your yard comes off a line that's had seventeen years of refining — built in Florida, with the product approval and engineer plans your permit office asks for.

That distinction is worth knowing when you're comparing quotes. You aren't choosing between an established builder and a new one; the builder is the same one behind a lot of the sheds you've driven past. You're choosing which dealer handles your order, your paperwork and your delivery. We publish every price on this site so you can judge that part before you call anyone.

Ring shank galvanized nails — prevent rust spots
Doubled wall studs under siding seams for extra strength
Pressure-treated floor joists set into notched pressure-treated skids
Key-locked, reinforced 2x4 doors
Air vents for circulation & temperature control
Windows are rated for 160 mph winds
Flood vents available if you are in a flood zone
We will send you engineer plans and master anchor plans to assist you in obtaining your permit with your city

Wood is a natural material, so minor knots, sap pockets, or small splits are normal and don't affect structural integrity.

Warranty

5-year warranty on workmanship
40-year warranty on metal roofs
Limited lifetime warranty against termite damage & fungal decay on pressure-treated materials
LP Smart Panel siding carries a 5-year 100% labor & replacement feature, plus a 50-year prorated limited warranty on substrate

Weather damage (wind, hail, flooding) is not covered. Building settling can affect doors/windows — have leveling checked first if a door or window sticks after 30 days.

Site & Permit Responsibilities

Permits, setbacks, and anchoring are the customer's responsibility — check with your local codes department or HOA. However, we want to help you as much as we can to make it as pleasant a process as possible. We will send you everything you need to obtain your permit including engineer plans and master anchor plans to ensure a smooth process with your city.
For the ground: a level spot is best. We recommend having 4"x16"x16" solid concrete cap blocks on site if your ground isn't level. The driver levels the building at delivery using treated wood blocks/shims — or if you can have a 4 to 6 inch limestone pad, or a cement slab, that works beautifully too!

Timeline

Every building is hand-built to order — nothing is sitting in stock, so yours gets built the size, doors and colors you pick. That takes about 3–5 weeks from order to delivery.
