No credit check, a small deposit, 36 to 60 months, pay it off whenever you want. The whole thing explained in plain English.
A big share of the portable buildings sold in Florida go out on rent-to-own, and it's easy to see why: no credit check, a small amount down, and a monthly payment instead of one big check. Here's exactly how it works at Yoder Storage Barns, without the fine print hiding anything.
| Cash / card | Rent-to-own | |
|---|---|---|
| To order | 50% down, balance at delivery | a deposit + first payment |
| Credit check | None | None |
| Total cost | Base price + tax + options | More than cash over the full term; less the sooner you pay it off |
| Early payoff | — | Any time, no penalty |
| Who it suits | You have the cash and want the lowest total | You'd rather keep your savings, or don't want a credit pull |
The cheapest way to use rent-to-own is to start on it and pay it off early — when a tax refund or a bonus comes in, for example — since there's no penalty for doing so.
"Is this a loan?" No. It's a rental-purchase agreement: you rent the building month to month with the option to own it, and ownership transfers when the term is complete or you pay it off. No interest rate, no credit reporting.
"Can I add options later?" Get them built in from the start — it's cheaper and it's covered by the warranty. Ramps, steps and decks added by the customer void Weather King's warranty, which is why we'd rather sell you the ramp than have you bolt one on.
"What about the permit?" Same as a cash sale: we send the engineer plans and anchor plan, you pull the owner-builder permit. See the permit guide.
"What's the smallest building I can rent-to-own?" Any of them, from an 8x8 utility shed at $2,368 up to a 14x40 garage. The minimum down is 10% of the building plus the first payment.
Ready for a number? Tell us the style, size and term — the quick form, a text, or a call all work.
Correct. There is no credit check and no credit application for rent-to-own. You put a deposit plus the first month's payment, sign a short contract, and the building gets ordered.
36, 48 or 60 months. A shorter term is a higher monthly payment and a lower total; a longer term is the reverse. You can pay it off early on any term with no penalty.
Every size on our prices page now shows its 60-month rent-to-own payment, so you can see the real figure before you call. That is the longest term and so the smallest payment; 48 and 36 months cost more per month and less overall. Options you add move the payment, so text or call with the size and style and we will confirm the exact number, including what you pay to get started.
Yes. Once the term is complete — or whenever you pay the balance off early — the building is yours.
